Gibela is seeking an accomplished and visionary Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join its Executive Leadership Team. This is a pivotal leadership opportunity for a strategic finance executive who can provide strong financial stewardship, drive business performance, strengthen governance, and support the organisation’s long-term growth ambitions.
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer and serving as a key member of the Executive Committee, the CFO will play a central role in shaping strategy, optimising financial performance, managing risk, and enabling informed decision-making across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the organisation’s financial strategy and planning
- Provide strategic financial advice to the CEO, EXCO, and Board
- Drive financial performance, profitability, and operational efficiency
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, reporting, treasury, and tax functions
- Ensure robust governance, risk management, and regulatory compliance
- Manage funding, capital allocation, and banking relationships
- Support strategic projects, investments, and business transformation initiatives
- Lead and develop a high-performing finance team
Minimum Requirements
- Chartered Accountant CA(SA) or equivalent finance qualification
- MBA or postgraduate qualification advantageous
- 10-15 years of progressive finance leadership experience
- At least 5 years in an Executive Finance Director or CFO role
- Proven experience in strategic financial leadership, governance, treasury, and commercial finance
- Strong Board, Audit Committee, and stakeholder engagement experience
